Student Counseling Intern Lamar University
Supervised by Shawna Munson, MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S

Hello! My name is Brittany Dawson and I am a Counseling Student Intern at Lamar University, supervised by Shawna Munson, MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S. I look forward to working with a wide variety of people and expanding my counseling skills. I believe therapy is a judgment-free zone. Throughout my studies, I have found myself aligning with person-centered therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. As an upcoming counselor, I want to give my clients the tools to become successful.

I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor's in Public Health. I am currently working towards my Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling. Along with school, I work with children with autism spectrum disorder as a registered behavioral technician (RBT). As an RBT, I have had the opportunity to work with diverse clientele and families. I have gained knowledge of the importance of family dynamics and family involvement.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling and exploring new food places, taking my dogs on walks, and binge-watching the latest TV shows on Netflix.
