Walden University
Supervised by Shawna Munson, MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S

Hello! My name is Dessaline Allison, Sr. I am currently a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Walden University. My specialization is in Addiction Counseling. I received my Bachelors degree in Theology from the African Methodist University. I have worked with substance abuse treatment programs, the homeless community, and at-risk youths in the Juvenile Justice system. I have experience in Biblical counseling, having worked as a Parish pastor for over 20 years and a Military Chaplain for five years. I believe the spiritual condition of the client is an integral component of the counseling relationship.

My counseling approach incorporates both emotional and spiritual support within the framework of traditional Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I can integrate faith-based counseling upon request. I believe that the is potential light in every darkness. I am interested in working with individuals, teenagers, the military, trauma, and depression. My professional organizations include the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, watching movies, and going out shooting with my boys (children).
