Terri Hemphill Rhodes

SHSU Counseling Intership Student

Supervised by Shawna Munson, MA, LPC-S

Seeing clients in person in our Livingston Office (Starting January 2022)

Hi! My name is Terrie Hemphill-Rhodes. I am in my final two semesters as a graduate student at Sam  Houston State University. My internship is supervised by Shawna Munson, M.A., LPC-S, LMFT Associate.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2005 from the University of Houston – Downtown campus. Upon graduation, I worked mainly as an administrative assistant in the oilfield and educational settings. I have always enjoyed helping others become successful in work and their personal lives. In 2019, I enrolled in graduate school to pursue my passion – helping others.

As a counseling intern, my goal is to work with you to help facilitate self-awareness, which in turn will lead to a greater understanding of self. I am here to help you reach your “aha” moment that will ultimately create clarity and positive change(s) in your everyday life. My genuineness and authenticity will foster a therapeutic relationship as we build trust and safety to explore life experiences and living in the moment. I am thrilled to collaborate with you on your journey of discovery and change.

In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family, gardening, nature walking, and antique shopping. I look forward to meeting you. My passion for helping others has placed me here and I am optimistic about the opportunity to work with you.
